TAXONOMIC COMPOSITION OF MICROORGANISMS IN LIVESTOCK ECOSYSTEMS OF THE OMSK REGION
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
Microbiological monitoring in modern intensive livestock systems is of key importance for assessing biological risks, as circulating opportunistic pathogens can form stable communities, act as reservoirs of antibiotic resistance, and pose an epizootic threat. The aim of the study was to analyze the taxonomic composition of microorganisms isolated from farm animals and environmental objects at livestock enterprises in the Omsk Region. Within the conducted microbiological monitoring, 455 samples of biological material from animals and swabs from the surfaces of technological equipment were studied. The material was collected from cattle, pigs, farmed poultry birds. Species identification was performed using classical microbiological methods and modern MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry technology. As a result of the research, 673 pure cultures were isolated and identified. The absolute dominance of the bacterial species Escherichia coli was established (52.45% of the total number of isolates). The second most significant group consisted of representatives of the genus Staphylococcus (19.47%), among which coagulase-negative species (S. epidermidis, S. saprophyticus) predominated, indicating their important role as resident microflora of animal skin and the surfaces of livestock facility infrastructure. The obtained data not only characterize the current microbial profile of typical livestock ecosystems in the region but also form a representative basis for further in-depth study of antibiotic resistance, biofilm-forming potential, and molecular genetic characteristics of the isolated strains. The results of the work are of practical value for improving veterinary and sanitary control systems and monitoring biological risks in modern animal husbandry.
