YIELD AND NUTRITIONAL VALUE OF FEED CHICKPEA MIXTURES WHEN CULTIVATED FOR GREEN FODDER

Abstract:
In Western Siberia, the problem of providing livestock with high-grade feed is most acute in the arid steppe and forest-steppe zones of the region. In solving it, an important role is assigned to leguminous crops and their mixed crops with cereals. In this regard, in the conditions of the forest-steppe of the Omsk region, field experiments were laid on meadow-chernozem soil to identify the most productive and nutritionally valuable mixtures of chickpea with other annual crops. The purpose of the research is to identify the most adaptive and productive mixtures of chickpeas with annual crops for use as green fodder in the forest-steppe conditions of Western Siberia. It is proved that in the conditions of the forest-steppe zone of this region, along with the widespread pea-oat mixture, if economically necessary, mixtures of chickpeas with other annual leguminous and grain fodder crops can be used for green fodder. Mixtures of chickpeas with grain and leguminous plants make it possible to obtain a yield of green mass from 20.5 to 24.9 t/ha, which contains from 21 to 51% chickpeas. Mixed crops of chickpeas with barley are the most productive: the collection of fodder units reaches 6.89 t/ha, and raw protein - 910 kg/ha. In the conditions of the forest-steppe zone of the West Siberian region, the mixture of chickpeas with barley is characterized by good ecological plasticity (IEP = 1.02-1.10) and increased use of symbiotic nitrogen (Cf = 0.28) compared with mixtures of chickpeas with wheat and oats.
