CLOSTRIDIOSES OF CATTLE IN THE OMSK REGION

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the epizootic situation regarding clostridiosis in cattle in the Omsk region. Clostridioses are infectious diseases caused by pathogenic strains of anaerobic bacteria of the genus Clostridium, which can live in soil, water and animal bodies. In cattle they cause emphysematous carbuncle (EMCA), anaerobic enterotoxemia, and malignant edema, which occur at lightning speed and hyperacutely and end in death. The purpose of the article is to study the spread of clostridiosis in the Omsk region, analyze diagnostic studies and evaluate the effectiveness of preventive measures. These infectious diseases occur in the form of sporadic cases and have been observed for a long time in various regions of Russia, including in the Omsk region. For the period 2017-2021 in the Russian Federation, the predominance of malignant edema and emphysematous carbuncle in cattle was established, while anaerobic enterotoxemia is recorded less frequently. In the Omsk region, cattle fell ill mainly with malignant edema. Clinical, epizootological and laboratory diagnostic methods were used to diagnose the disease. Stougard-4 KS, Ultrachoice-8, VanShotUltra-8 vaccines were used as specific prophylaxis, but these vaccines do not create protective immunity against malignant edema caused by Cl. perfringens type A. The effectiveness of preventive measures has been achieved thanks to the development and use of specific preventive means, due to compliance with zoohygienic standards, aseptic and antiseptic rules. The improvement in the epizootic situation indicates the effectiveness of the measures taken and the correctly selected vaccine administration regimen.
