Calf dyspepsia is one of the most common diseases in calves of the early postnatal period. The classic treatment regimen includes various broad-spectrum antibiotics. Modern approaches to therapy and tightening of veterinary and sanitary requirements for livestock products lead to restrictions on the use of antibacterial agents. One of the alternatives to antibiotic therapy for dyspepsia is the use of probiotics. The aim of the study: to study the effect of probiotics Vetom 1 and Vetom 1.2 on the morphological and biochemical parameters of calf blood. The studies were carried out in the spring on analog calves (2 experimental, 1 control group, 15 heads in each) as they were received. The calves of experimental group No. 1 received Vetom 1 at a dose of 50 mg/kg of live weight once a day, experimental group No. 2 - Vetom 1.2, at a dose of 50 mg/kg of live weight once a day. The control group received only the main diet. The study determined: clinical status, number of erythrocytes, leukocytes, leukogram, ALT, AST, de Ritis coefficient, total protein, albumins, globulins (α, β, γ). It was established that dyspepsia in calves was accompanied by leukocytosis (10.89 ± 0.76*1012/l), a shift in the leukocyte formula to the left, monocytosis (10.4 ± 1.14%) and lymphopenia (10.4 ± 1.14%), a violation of the protein-forming function of the liver (albumin-globulin coefficient - 0.54 ± 0.06). The use of probiotics Vetom 1 and Vetom 1.2. to calves from the first days of life prevented the development of dyspepsia, and in case of illness contributed to a speedy recovery and restoration of morphological parameters of the blood and protein metabolism parameters. Probiotic Vetom 1.2, in comparison with Vetom 1, significantly reduces the incidence of dyspepsia and its severity in calves in the early postnatal period.
