Vegetable beans ( Vicia faba L. ) - a crop whose seeds contain a lot of resistant starch and high percentage of protein easily absorbed by the human body. The lack of varieties well adapted to specific soil and climate conditions, small production volumes of seeds largely limit the spread of beans in Russia. Conditions of the southern forest steppe of Western Siberia are favorable for their cultivation. Achievements of domestic selection on this culture are modest. Therefore, work on creating a vegetable bean starting material that is resistant to major diseases is urgent. The immediate task in vegetable bean selection is to create a variety, most resistant to fungal, bacterial and viral diseases, capable of yielding high yields of green matter and seeds. The research was conducted in the Educational-Experimental Farm of the Omsk SAU in 2023-2024 on a breeding rotation trial site located in the southern forest steppe of Western Siberia. The article presents results of studies on the disease resistance of vegetable beans. Belarusian, Russian black, Sweet Lorraine, Tyumen dark, Yankel Biala, White Guard and the German variety of Dreifach Weibe can be recommended as sources of disease resistance in the southern forest steppe of Western Siberia. In the wet 2024, an average positive relationship between seed yield and the level of infection with aschoquitosis was found.
