The article presents material on the use of a combined machine-tractor unit, consisting of a K-700A tractor and a PM6x4p with an installed piercer-milling chisel plough to prepare the soil for sowing. Studies were carried out on meadow chernozem soils with a mechanical composition - medium-gravity loams with a surface angle of no more than 2 degrees. To reduce the techno genic impact on the soil after the passage of the energy means (tractor), the proposed piercer-milling chisel plough device was installed in front of the tractor. This made it possible to more evenly distribute the weight of the tractor, due to its partial redistribution from a more loaded front axle to a rear axle. Based on the conducted research, it was established that the use of an experimental tractor in preparing the soil for sowing works, compared to a serial one, allows to reduce the following indicators: soil density in the arable horizon of 0.15 m - by 7%, soil hardness - by 6.07%, track depth - by 8.1%. So, if at a depth of 0.2 m the soil moisture content was 19.1... 25%, then at a depth of 0.4 m it was 40... 44.1%. This indicates the need for work on its removal to the lower horizons. When conventional slitters operate on soils of high humidity and the presence of a clay base, the channels made by the working member of the slotter are quickly tightened to remove excess moisture to the lower layers of the soil horizon. When using the disclosed device, the piercing depth is up to 0.41 m. In this case the walls of the channel left by the beam-shaped piercing element are compacted, thereby increasing the time for tightening the walls of the channel.
