JUSTIFICATION OF THE PARAMETERS AND OPERATING MODES OF THE EXPERIMENTAL SECTION OF THE INSECTARIUM FOR BREEDING BLACK SOLDIER FLIES

Abstract:
Due to the global deficit of feed protein, which reaches approximately 30 million tons, and in Russia, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, about 2 million tons per year, it is necessary to find alternatives to traditional sources of valuable protein used in the preparation of compound feed for livestock, fish farming and poultry farming. As such an alternative, by the government order of October 10, 2023 (No. 2761-r), the OKPD classifier 2.10.91.10.290, which includes feed for farm animals, was supplemented with a new type of activity - breeding black soldier flies and manufacturing products from them. Based on the above documents, studies were conducted at the Omsk State Agrarian University on the maintenance and cultivation of black soldier fly larvae. As part of these studies, an experimental design of an insectarium section was developed and the necessary materials for its manufacture were selected. The internal structure of the insectarium partitions was modeled in such a way as to ensure the division of the space of the experimental structure of the insectarium section, necessary for different stages of the life of the black soldier fly - flight and metamorphosis. A frame design was also proposed for placing the experimental structure of the insectarium section, which ensures the vertical position and rigidity of the insectarium structure. The key aspects influencing the maintenance of the black soldier fly were established: heating and ventilation of the insectarium with two options for air supply - using outside air and from a buffer room; adiabatic humidification system; lighting system with the ability to smoothly turn on and off. Based on the studies performed, specific examples of equipment that can be used in an insectarium are proposed.
