The article discusses the problems of treatment of purulent-necrotic wounds in dogs resulting from various injuries and aggressive factors. The main focus is on the use of enzyme therapy, in particular, chymotrypsin, as one of the treatment methods. The treatment of purulent-necrotic lesions is a complex task that requires an integrated approach, including surgery and drug treatment aimed at cleansing the wound surface and activating tissue repair processes. The basis of enzyme therapy in the treatment of such wounds is the fact that most infectious lesions of the skin and subcutaneous tissue are provoked by a mixed microflora (about 87% of cases), among which staphylococci, E. coli bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, bacteroids and peptococci predominate. In the process of enzyme therapy, enzymatic preparations are actively used, fixed on solid matrices, which retain their activity and contribute to the destruction of necrotic tissues and accelerate healing. The study is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the use of an atraumatic dressing with chymotrypsin "ParaPran" in comparison with a dressing made independently with a 1% solution of chymotrypsin. The experiment involved nine dogs aged 4-6 years with extensive purulent-necrotic wounds, which were divided into three groups: a control group and two experimental ones. In the control group, treatment was carried out according to the standard scheme without the use of enzyme therapy, in the experimental groups - with the use of chymotrypsin. Therapeutic efficacy and treatment costs were assessed. The results of the study showed good therapeutic efficacy of enzyme therapy in the treatment of purulent-necrotic wounds in dogs. The time of wound healing in the groups where bandages with chymotrypsin were used was reduced by an average of 5-9 days compared with the control group of dogs. Comparing the cost of treating dogs with purulent-necrotic wounds, it was noted that homemade bandages with 1% chymotrypsin are more economically profitable (by 9058 rubles) than using a commercial ParaPran dressing. In conclusion, the importance of further research in the field of enzyme therapy is emphasized in order to improve the quality of treatment and reduce the cost of veterinary services.
