Post-harvest grain processing aims to improve its quality. It is well known that grain quality is improved by cleaning using grain cleaning machines. However, traditional grain cleaning units with reciprocating sieves have exhausted their potential, reaching their technical limits. Therefore, research and the search for effective methods and technical means of post-harvest grain processing and cleaning continue. This scientific paper presents the results of an experimental study of a flat sieve oscillating in the transverse direction. An experimental laboratory setup has been developed. A method for assessing the degree of grain separation is proposed as an optimization parameter. During experimental studies of a flat sieve subjected to transverse vibrations, the completeness of separation (ε) was chosen as a qualitative evaluation indicator of the graincleaning process. Visual graphs of the dependence of the completeness of separation, as an indicator of sieve performance, on variable experimental parameters, are obtained based on the obtained data. A detailed analysis of the obtained graphical data reflecting the effective operating modes of a flat screen with transverse vibrations is presented. The presented visual graphs demonstrate the dependence of grain separation efficiency on the vibration parameters of a flat screen with transverse vibrations for various specific load levels. Key mechanisms affecting the completeness of grain separation on a screen vibrating in the transverse direction are identified. Furthermore, the variation ranges of the most significant parameters (factors) influencing separation completeness are established and substantiated. These parameters were determined based on data from a screening experiment conducted to achieve optimal process conditions.
