ANALYSIS OF PALATABILITY AND DIGESTIBILITY OF SILAGE PRESERVED WITH MICROBIOVIT “YENISEIˮ IN A SERIES OF EXPERIMENTS

Abstract:
The article presents the materials of a series of experiments on assessing the palatability and digestibility of diets, which included experimental silage from a mixture of sugar sorghum plants “Galiaˮ 85% with fodder beans “Siberianˮ 15% prepared with biopreservative microbiovit “Yeniseiˮ at a dilution of 1 : 100 (O-I) and without it (O-II) in comparison with the main economic ration (K), including corn silage. Physiological experiments on fattening bull-calves of the black-and-white breed were carried out on the basis of the Research and Production Enterprise “Omskoye”, the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Omsk Agrarian Scientific Centerˮ in 2021-2022. The age of the animals in the first scientific and economic experiment (2021) was 6-9 months, kept tethered in the physiological yard; in the second scientific and production experiment (2022) the age was from 13 to 15-16 months, free-stall housing in group cages. The palatability was determined daily by the difference between the given feed and the remaining after feeding. Feed digestibility was determined by digestibility coefficient and protein ratio. All digital material was subjected to mathematical processing with the determination of reliability by Studentʼs t-test. As a result of a series of experiments, we see that silage preserved with Yenisei microbiovit has a certain smell and taste, and also increases appetite and feed palatability up to 100%. It is reliable that feeds preserved with Yenisei microbiovit increase the digestibility of nutrients. In the scientific and economic experiment, it was shown that a narrow protein ratio in the main experiment is observed in bulls only of the O-I group, and in the scientific and production experiment, the protein ratio is narrow at all periods, regardless of groups, which is evidence that older animals digest feed and absorb nutrients much better.
